Jasmine Pu'erh – Jingmai Mountain Ancient-Tree Ripe Pu-erh with Jasmine

Jasmine Pu'erh pairs forest-grown ripe pu-erh from Jingmai Mountain with the uplifting fragrance of jasmine blossoms. Deep in the diverse forests of southern Yunnan, the Dai people have tended tea trees for generations, and the leaves for this blend come from those ancient trees, said to be 700 to 1, 000 years old, hand-picked to maintain a long tradition of quality.

Growing within a rich, diverse ecosystem, these deep-rooted trees draw on abundant nutrients, producing a tea with notable depth and flexible steeping quality. The robust, woody character of the ripe pu-erh is lifted by the airy, floral perfume of jasmine, creating what we describe as an “unearthly” harmony: the grounding, velvety finish of aged tea brightened by floral sweetness. The aroma is uplifting jasmine over earthy, woody pu-erh; the flavor robust and woody with bright floral sweetness; the texture smooth and velvety; and the finish grounding, sweet and lightly perfumed. The jasmine softens pu-erh's earthiness, so the blend works well as an introduction for newcomers while giving existing pu-erh drinkers an interesting twist. It can be brewed in a gaiwan or small teapot for multiple infusions, or steeped in a mug for everyday drinking, and it serves well as a morning coffee alternative or an after-meal digestif.
