Supreme West Lake Long Jing is sourced from a family-run tea garden set high in the mountains of Hangzhou, the celebrated home of Dragon Well tea. For generations this family has produced exceptional Long Jing by hand, relying on traditional, natural farming methods and pan-firing skills handed down through the family. It is one of China's most famous green teas, offered here at connoisseur level.

This lot is made from the most tender first spring shoots. Every leaf is picked by hand in late March and then roasted by hand in wood-fired pans. Compared with mainstream Long Jing harvested later in the season, this supreme grade gives a subtler, grassier and more refined finish. The dry leaves are flat, smooth and pale green, resembling pine needles, and they brew a pale, delicate green liquor. The aroma is wonderfully fresh and fragrant, the flavor refreshing, floral and gently grassy, and the finish clean, subtle and elegant. It re-steeps for several delicate cups and is naturally rich in antioxidants.
